Hello everyone and welcome to Slowly Slimmer website. The world of weight loss, dieting, and leading a healthier life is a very confusing place. I too have struggled for most of my life chasing the illusion of being slimmer, unsuccessfully.
Many times, I have thought I finally found the answer, only to look back and see that while my diet was effective, it was not sustainable and very unhealthy for my overall health.
My Story (Confession)
I am someone who considers himself to be overweight and who has been overweight all his life. I feel it is my life’s battle trying to lose my weight and keep it off. It wasn’t as much a problem when I was younger, but as I got older it became harder and harder to easily drop the weight.
I have had my fair share of starting and stopping diets. There are many reasons for this, but generally it was because of a lack of knowledge and a lack of persistence. I have tried many, many diets over the years. I have tried things like: cutting carbs, cutting fat, skipping meals, fasting days, and even once tried the HCG diet with injections.
This is to say nothing of the countless diet pills I have consumed to speed up my metabolism, reduce the stress hormones in my body, encapsulate and remove fat or carbs in what I eat, or any other thing I thought might give me a boost in the process.
This is not to say that I didn’t have success along the way. I did. BUT, my success was short-lived. They simply weren’t sustainable plans and in some cases, lead to adverse effects I didn’t count on. So here I am now, a little more aged and still fighting.
A New Way Of Thinking
I have decided to change my thinking on the topic of dieting, fitness, health, and overall well-being. People can benefit by following my blog and hearing my story slowly revealed, seeing my current path, and following with me. My hope is to be an inspiration to those who also struggle to lose weight and have been busy chasing the slim body they desire. Building a sense of community with people like me who are struggling is something I value and something I think others can benefit from.
